This year one of our members in the Buda Professional Firefighters Association Local 4650 participated in the St. Baldrick's foundation fund raiser.  This foundation helps to raise money for kids with cancer by people shaving there head.  Jacob was raising money to honor "Justin Robin Waters".  You can watch his video here http://youtu.be/Zgs8rYGn6aI    and also find out more about St. Baldricks and what it is they do  http://www.StBaldricks.org Look at some of the pictures of this event in our photo gallery.

Spring forward an hour this month.  It's that time again and with that it's a good reminder to change the batteries in your smoke detectors.  Replace all batteries, clean and test your detectors to make sure everything is working properly.

As a result of our sucessful pink t-shirt fundraiser, the Buda Professional Firefighters Association raised nearly $1000.00 for the battle against cancer.  The BPFFA donated $500.00 to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure foundation and $500.00 to the Firefighter Cancer Support Network.  We would like to thank everyone who helped out by supporting this cause.

The Buda Professional Firefighters Association is joining with the Texas State Association of Firefighters to help combat breast cancer. On Oct. 25-27, members of the Buda Fire Department will show their support of people battling the disease by wearing pink shirts while on duty.

The association will also sell shirts to the public for $15. Fifty percent of the proceeds will go to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure foundation, and 50 percent will go to the The Firefighter Cancer Support Network .

Early morning on Friday September 11, Buda firefighters gathered at their training facility to honor the 343 firefighters of the Fire Department of New York who lost their lives that tragic day.  Fifteen Buda firefighters participated in a tower climb equaling 110 floors in rememberance of our fallen comrades.
